Lake Titicaca

Apologies for the long time since the last post, but it's been hard to upload all the pictures in Bolivia. Download speeds are ok, but upload is incredibly slow. The above picture is from the Uros Island, the floating islands outside of Puno in Peru. They have become quite touristy, but interesting nonetheless. We then crossed into Bolivia, stopping at Copacabana (no, not the Rio one) and spent two days hiking on Isla del Sol. The Island is supposedly the origin of the Inca culture and still has a few ruins. But much more interesting is the fact that it is an inhabited island without roads. Except for the more recent addition of tourism, the economy is still very based on farming and livestock. I enjoyed the scenery, but getting close to the local communities was the highlight.Full albums here: The Uros Islands and Isla del Sol
